WASHINGTON, D.C., August 1, 2011 – Leigh Ann Pusey, president and CEO of the American Insurance Association, today sent a letter to members of the U.S. House of Representatives urging passage of bipartisan legislation, the “Budget Control Act of 2011,” which will increase the statutory debt ceiling and avoid default on the financial obligations of the U.S. Government. The measure is scheduled to be voted upon by the House of Representatives this evening.
