NEW YORK, July 26, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (Guardian) announced today that John J. Brennan has been elected to the company's Board of Directors. Mr. Brennan is Chairman Emeritus and Senior Advisor of the Vanguard Group, Inc., a Malvern, PA -based investment management company with more than $1.5 trillion of assets under management. He served as Vanguard's Chief Executive Officer from 1996 to 2008 and Chairman of its Board from 1998 to 2009.
